David Payton (Stanley Sanders and Cotton Patch Ensemble) - David is "tickled" to be appearing in this production after having portrayed Uncle Stanley in PlayRight's Smoke on the Mountain for the last two years. At age six, David was already on stage playing guitar & singing with his parents' gospel group. He has toured North America with several Christian recording groups including David Teems and The Calling, Free Fare, and Grammy Award winners Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart. David also toured internationally for ten years as a solo artist, and his CD I Got Wise was also released nationally on Refuge Records. David's songs were featured on the widely-acclaimed Refuge Records compilation Heavenly Blues. David has shared the stage with many Christian greats including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Newsboys and more. David has also performed as lead guitarist and vocalist with U.S. Beat, David Payton and the Basics, and Cotton and the PayTones. His early stage credits include Bye Bye Birdie (Conrad Birdie), West Side Story (Tony), and as an adult he portrayed Jesus Christ in Mount Paran Church of God's Passion Play for years. David owns Certified Stucco Inspections and is a full-time student at Art Institute of Atlanta. He thanks his best friend, soul-mate, and wife, Charlotte for all her love and support in encouraging him to pursue his dreams! They make their home in Woodstock with four dogs: Buddy, Millie, BooBoo, and ChaCha and four cats: Stella, Spot, Junior Mintz, and MiMi. David is also thankful to the wonderful PlayRight family for "adopting" him.
